It seems like I’ve grown another appendage since Sunday. I now have this long wooden thing attached to my hand that I can’t seem to shake. Oh wait, it’s just a shovel.
Yesterday when I got home, the first thing I did was reach for the shovel to get rid of the snow that had fallen since I last shoveled the walk…at 2:20 A.M.. At 6:15 last night I was back out there again. Not only did I do my sidewalk and clear a path in front of my vehicle, I went across the street to help my neighbour. I saw him pull out his snowblower and the next thing I knew, him and his wife were out in front of their house with shovels. Apparently a pin had broken on his snowblower when he went to start it so he ended up having to get rid of the snow the old fashioned way. I figured, why not help? Three shovels are better than two!
I also shoveled our deck 3 or 4 times yesterday and shoveled the snow from the front of our back gate so I could get out and put the garbage into the bin. This shoveling business is getting a little stupid. I do believe I’ve shoveled more snow since Sunday than I had the previous five months!
At least it appears that the worst is behind us now.
Better news? Spring arrives at 10:15 A.M. two weeks from today!
