The 87 RCMP detachments that make up “F” Division in Saskatchewan are conducting Town Hall-style meetings around the province.
Monday they met with residents in Biggar.
Staff Sergeant Ron Embree says they go through an annual strategic planning process, but that typically involves only consulting mayors, reeves, and councilors.
This year, they are going directly to the people in communities.
Embree says, they don’t just get ideas from the public, they also let the public in on the initiatives the RCMP are engaged in.
Embree says, any information provided by the public will be scrutinized by the force to see if they are ideas that can be implemented.
He says, if you are interested, you should contact your local detachment to find out when a town hall meeting is going to be held in your area.
All of the meetings are being held over the next two to three months.
