It may have seemed like just a normal game between 0-3 teams, but with Team Yukon`s 8-2 win over team BC, it marks the territory`s first ever win at the Tim Hortons Brier.
Thomas Scoffin and his team out of Whitehorse are at their first ever Brier, as under the new format there was never an opportunity for Yukon to attend the Brier.
Scoffin says it was a great team win.
“It was an interesting game, with Wade (Scoffin) having to come out a little bit in the end, and Clint (Ireland) came in and played great,” Scoffin says. “We just came together as a team and it feels fantastic.”
Skip Thomas Scoffin says the ability to play with his father, Wade, who throws the seconds rocks, has been a great opportunity and a fun way to spend his first ever Brier.
“My first Brier, to share it with Wade, my Dad, is just so special, I couldn’t have asked for anything more,” Scoffin says. “We’re just having a blast here, and trying to soak it all in, and play out best out there as well.”
Team Yukon faces Team Alberta Tuesday afternoon as they continue round robin play.
