Staff and students at Ecole St. Elizabeth in Regina’s southeast end are mourning the loss of one of their own.
The school has sent a letter home with students saying a Grade 7 student died after being stuck under a great deal of snow when the snow tunnel the 12-year-old girl was playing in collapsed. The accident did not happen on school property.
Twylla West with the Regina Catholic School board says support staff are in place speaking with those who may need it in the wake of this event.
The name of the child has not been released. The Office of the Chief Coroner and Regina police are investigating. The death is not considered suspicious.
