The city of Regina continues to grow.
On Friday, the city and the rural municipality of Sherwood signed an agreement to annex the land into Regina city limits.
Mayor Michael Fougere was ecstatic.

“This is an important aspect in many ways,” said Fougere. “Personally, it’s a smooth annexation of land into the city of Regina.”
He says this new land will become a part in developing one of the cities newest and trendiest areas.
“The southern portion of Harbour Landing, Dream has purchased that land. They have a view of having more residential development done on both sides where those two parcels of land are going to be.”
Fougere says having a strong professional relationship with municipality officials also was key to facilitating this deal.
“We worked really hard, both administrative and politically, to move forward and see the big picture of growth and joint opportunities together,” he said.
“We have a strong relationship, we have a memorandum of understanding, we have a technical committee where administrations work together and we have a political committee where councillors meet together as well.
