The NDP is raising concern about threatened tariffs on Saskatchewan steel exports to the U.S.
Opposition critic Vicki Mowat is asking the Saskparty government for an update on efforts to protect steelworker jobs in Regina.
She says there are 14 hundred jobs at Evraz steel in Regina, and the facility is important for the Saskatchewan economy.
Export and trade minister Jeremy Harrison is pleased with a temporary exemption for Saskatchewan steel heading south and says he will push for a permanent exemption.
Harrison is hoping a new North American free trade agreement can be hammered out to resolve these trade issues.
