Premier Scott Moe says a new group has been trained to assist the battle against wildfires in rural Saskatchewan.
Moe says Carrot River MLA Fred Bradshaw has spearheaded an effort to train 24 Saskatchewan crop dusters in fire suppression.
“I’m pleased to say those pilots are now in the process of being certified,” said Moe. “There’s still a few issues for us to workout, but they are minor.”
The Premier also noted the reward of this crop dusting team could huge.
“The cost of making this service, in true Saskatchewan fashion, the cost of making this service available to the municipalities, where you live and I live, is very minimal.”
“But the potential benefit is massive.”
