A 12 year old girl is recovering after receiving chemical burns on a school playground yesterday when a chemical explosion occurred.
Regina police were called to Ruth M. Buck Elementary School in the city’s northwest yesterday afternoon after getting reports of the incident.
A further investigation determined a 12 year old boy was responsible as he allegedly created an explosive device by mixing chemicals in a closed container.
The boy, who was scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning has been charged with using explosives, assault with a weapon and mischief under $5,000
He can’t be named because of his age.
