Canadian country recording artist Chris Buck of the Chris Buck Band from BC stopped by 620 CKRM Wednesday afternoon in support of his new song “Spin on it,” a song that reminds us to slow down and enjoy the good times with your significant other.
“I wrote this song about someone in a relationship and they get complacent and comfortable and they don’t get out and do stuff, so it’s about taking your girl out dancing for the night,” explained Buck. “Get off your butt and taker her out kind of thing, put a a little spin on it.”
He noted his team waited a a little longer to release the song because of the spring/summer feel to it.
“It’s totally got the the Bob Marley kind of base line in the recording and it just felt like a summer song,” added Buck.
“Spin on it” is part of a brand new album Buck is working on which is expected to be released in fall 2018. The name of the album will be called “All in,” which is a personal nod for Buck.
“I wrote a lot of songs about how I sold my car, sold my house, gave up everything I wanted and went all in on the music thing, so the album has stories about how I gave up possessional stuff to follow my dream I guess,” he stated.
Buck will continue writing songs in Nashville when he packs up and moves to the music city in April.
