A Regina couple going through a rough time is getting some much needed help from the Regina Trades and Skills Centre.
Kelly and Dan Snowden are having their roof redone by students in the roofing program, after the couple reached out and informed them of Dan’s biking accident and the many repairs their north end home is in dire need of.
Once the student crew arrived at her home to commence work on Tuesday morning, Snowden couldn’t contain her happiness.
“It’s absolutely amazing,” she said. “The work that they do. I knew it was there, but I didn’t know exactly what they did. The Trades Centre is doing an amazing job.”
At the project site supervising the students was Chris Wall, interim program teacher and a Service Technician for Wheatland Roofing. He called it a great learning experience for the students, as opportunities like this are perfect for preparing them for the demands of the trade.
“They’re doing really well as far picking up some of that technical knowledge, not just the hands on aspect of things,” he noted.
