Clean up is taking place at Wonderland arcade in the aftermath of the fire next door.
Wednesday morning just before 6 AM, crews were called to Lang’s Cafe, and spent much of the day putting out a massive fire that destroyed the building.
Dorothy Stuart from Wonderland Arcade says there was a lot of water on the roof, which caused a lot of damage to the roof.
“The sky was falling, because they said there was 8-10 inches of water on the roof, and they thought that the roof was going to cave, because there was debris from Lang’s that they sprayed onto our roof as it collapsed, and it blocked our downspout,” Stuart says. “The Water was just pouring in where it wasn’t coming down the downspout.”
Stuart says she still can’t believe how her building is still intact.
“I couldn’t believe the fire wall between us and both fire walls. The balloons didn’t pop, our balloons didn’t deflate, the balloons didn’t go, so everything was just soggy,” Stuart says. “It was floating, there was just water running everywhere.”
Stuart later said all of the equipment and machines will need to be removed from the building before further work can be done, so a time frame for reopening is unknown.
