The business of the province was put on hold Monday as Saskatchewan MLA’s banded as one to pay tribute to the Humboldt Broncos in the wake of Friday’s tragic bus crash that killed 15.
Premier Scott Moe and NDP Leader Ryan Meili both wore shirts saying “We are Humboldt Strong” in the assembly with both men also speaking.
Amongst the many speakers were the Saskatchewan Party’s Don McMorris, Dustin Duncan and Fred Bradshaw with the NDP’s Danielle Chartier and Trent Wotherspoon also giving comments.
One person who was not in the assembly for Monday’s proceedings was finance minister Donna Harpauer. Harpauer is the MLA for Humboldt. She will make a statement tomorrow before she stands up to deliver a provincial budget. That budget was to come down at 2 o’clock, but with question period being cancelled, it will now come at 1:30.
620 CKRM will have complete coverage and reaction on the budget live from the rotunda in the Saskatchewan Legislature starting at 1:30.
