The Farm Credit Canada Drive Away Hunger tour goes Thursday in Regina.
Carla Warnyca is the FCC manager of Community Investment.
She says several small tractors and trailers will tour various schools and businesses in Regina, picking up food and cash donations for the local food bank.
She is hoping to surpass last year’s figure of 386 thousand meals raised for the Regina Food Bank.
In Saskatchewan, FCC raised 840 thousand meals.
Warnyca says the national goal is to raise at least 5 million meals for food banks across Canada.
Last year, the October food drive raised 7.2 million meals.
This year there is a different approach.
This year, some schools in need will receive food donations.
FCC is also providing one thousand dollars in cash to various needy schools for lunchroom programs.
The Drive Away Hunger campaign will also be in Humboldt Thursday, Saskatoon October 11th, Moose Jaw October 12th and Yorkton October 17th.
