A total of 13 charges await a 19-year-old man and and 30-year-old woman who were arrested in north west Saskatchewan after assaulting and robbing a taxi in Regina Friday night.
RCMP were called after the taxi, a black Dodge Caravan was then involved in a theft from a gas station in Lashburn Saturday morning.
After a short chase on the eastbound lanes of Highway 16, the taxi pulled over west of Delmas and fired a weapon at police, who then fired back, rammed the vehicle and arrested the two suspects with the help of a police dog.
Nineteen-year-old Tristan Pinder from Elk Point Alberta, and 30-year-old Verena Petruka from Melville, are now facing charges that include dangers operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, assaulting a police officer and theft under five-thousand dollars.
Both suspects remain in custody and will appear in court in North Battleford Monday morning.
