Saturday afternoon I was finally able to do what I’ve been waiting to do for what seemed like forever. After I was finished working at Sask Battery I went home and got my patio furniture set up and ready for summer. Then I grabbed a seat and Max and I enjoyed that beautiful weather. It’s been a long time since I was able to do that. My wife was out shopping, so we were both doing something we loved.
Yesterday I thought I’d sit outside once again and enjoy a little sunshine while Max thought it necessary to sniff out every inch of the backyard. I guess it smells a little different when it’s not covered with snow.
As I was sitting there I was visited by something I usually don’t see until the summer. A lonely wasp was flying around me as if it was on some kind of reconnaissance mission. This guy must have been as anxious as the rest of us for the snow to go away. I’m not used to seeing wasps until the end of June or early July. I hope that’s not a sign of things to come.
There’s nothing worse than trying to enjoy a nice hot summer day on the deck while dodging an endless barrage of wasps.
I can’t believe it. We’ve had about 4 days of nice weather and I’m already complaining about something!
