A total of $150,000 is being donated to 18 different Regina charities by Farm Credit Canada.
President Michael Hoffort says the organization, based out of the Saskatchewan capital, wants to support local community enhancement projects.
“Many of the projects relate to hunger and youth hunger in our city,” he said.
One of the projects is the Regina Spirit Fund, which Hoffort said is designed to support community enhancement initiatives.
“We look to support some of the excellent community association projects within the city,” he said. “There’s a large number employees that live and work in Regina that care about this community.”
Hoffort says some of the projects receiving funds this year relate to youth hunger, women in crisis and mental health. The awarded funds range from $2500 to $25,000, with that being the maximum.
