The Canadian Taxpayers Federation says it is simply wrong for the federal government to try and impose a carbon tax on Saskatchewan, so they are fully in favour of Premier Scott Moe’s move to take the matter to the Court of Appeal.
Prairie spokesperson Todd McKay says the federal government has to be held accountable on this matter which is something Justin Trudeau and the Liberals are trying to avoid.
McKay says while the provincial government does things they aren’t in favour of, this is one where they fully back them.
“Premier Moe promised to fight the carbon tax, and he is backing that up. “McKay said. “Other politicians talk big and can’t back it up, but Premier Moe’s gloves just hit the ice and he is coming out swinging on behalf of Saskatchewan taxpayers.”
McKay adds it is the federation’s belief that the Saskatchewan government will be successful in this challenge.
