SaskPower is reminding people, especially farmers and those in the construction industry, to be aware of overhead and underground power lines.
SaskPower’s Jordan Jackle said before starting work, take a moment to familiarize yourself with your surroundings.
“I think a lot of people sort of get some familiarity with their surroundings, it’s a situation where a person that’s working the same farmyard for a lot of years and knows where those power lines are. They don’t always take the time to make that top of mid when they go about their work,” Jackle said.
In the last 10 years, there have been more than 6000 power-line contacts in Saskatchewan resulting in nine deaths.
