A report from Stats Canada suggests people in Saskatchewan are smoking less weed than other Canadians.
In advance of legalization of marijuana later this year, Canada’s number cruncher is working on putting together a picture of what the drug’s profile will be in the national economy.
The report shows annual marijuana consumption across Canada stood at 21.1 grams per capita in 2017. In Saskatchewan, that number stands at 16.37 grams which is the lowest consumption of any province.
Nova Scotia leads the way with consumption of just over 27 grams.
The report also shows an estimate of the average price of marijuana in all provinces and territories.
It shows the price in Saskatchewan at $7.61 per gram which is just over the national average.
