White Bear First Nation’s Teagan Littlechief is back with new music that dives into a serious matter in society and in her own life.
Fresh off the heels of her last song, A Scar on My Heart, comes her latest single entitled “Words,” a song that was written by Nicole Scott and Bruce Wallace.
“When I heard it, I related so much to it again because it touched on bullying for me,” elaborated Littlechief. “If I let what people say, all the negative things, if I let them dictate on how I live my dream, then I wouldn’t be where I am right now, so I think that’s basically why I love that song.”
She admits to having experienced bullying herself, particularly on social media.
“I just don’t listen to it anymore,” said Littlechief proudly.
“Words” was produced and recorded with Johnny Gasparic and Dave Semple in Calgary has plans to release a new song later this year that was written in Nashville. She is taking her time on a new album but is hoping to have something together within the next year. Littlechief confirms it can be a long process putting a project together.
“It takes along time,” she chuckled. “There are many songs I could put on there but I think it’s going to take a little longer.”
