What seemed like an long and endless cold winter, spring finally arrived with beautiful weather the past couple of weeks. As I walked to work this morning I realized it really is the season of renewal and growth. The grass is growing and the trees are beginning to bud! I have a picture to below to prove it! I blogged last week about the litter in our city and I’m happy to see many hard workers have been out picking up garbage carelessly thrown out by others. Southern Saskatchewan is looking great!
It’s also the time when a lot us get out of hibernation from winter and get physically active once again. I’m one of those who started going to a gym. First off I don’t think I thought out things as well as I should. Most gyms start around $40 a month and go up from there, however I was drawn into a gym that charges just $10 a month and it’s a really nice place! However, it’s on the opposite side of the city from where I live so while I’m saving $30 a month I’m putting that towards gas just getting to and from there! It all balances out in the end I suppose.
I took the past year off from the gym and I learned it’s true when they say “it’s easy to put on but tough to take off!” Overall things have been great since returning to regular exercise. I hadn’t experienced any stiffness or soreness until the I used the leg press from HELL! I didn’t think I put much weight on the machine and my legs felt alright after….until the next morning when I remembered I was on the leg press from hell. Stiffness and pain in muscles I didn’t know I had resulting in odd walking movements all day at work. All I can say is I MUCH prefer a whiskey press over the leg press!
Nobody said renewal was easy I suppose. Regardless, I hope you have a great weekend and enjoy the beautiful temps to the fullest!
