The NDP is raising concern about delays for doctors in obtaining results of medical lab tests.
Opposition leader Ryan Meili says some physicians are waiting five or six weeks for biopsy details.
He says those are weeks which are crucial for timely and effective care.
He says lab services have been cut.
Health minister Jim Reiter says wait times are affected by sample volumes and test complexity.
But he is extremely concerned and officials are looking into the turnaround time for biopsy results.
He says Regina has a 16 day backlog, depending on the sample.
He hopes to be briefed by officials within the next couple days.
