To say Ryan Varjassy is shocked and livid would be an understatement.
Varjassy was driving along Sherwood Drive late Thursday, when he encountered a bunch of young cyclists.
“The first one was doing a wheelie right by the front of the car,” he said. ” So I was trying to miss him, but then there were two coming on the passengers side, head on as well. So I’m trying to dodge between them while hitting the brakes. There were other cars around as well.”
Varjassy started filming the incident and ended following the cyclists down to an area around Lewvan Drive and Pasqua.
It was at that time the youngsters started shouting and vandalizing his vehicle.
“They were kicking the car, they were trying to bust the mirrors off,” he said. “One of them had his bike and started leaning against the door so I couldn’t get out of the car.”
Varjassy noted he’s not the only one to encounter this, as since the incident, several people have commented on his Facebook page they’ve encountered similar incidents.
He wants the parents and kids to know while they think this is all fun and games, they need to know they’re playing a dangerous game.
“This is about defiance,” he said. “This is about them thinking they know the law, but the parents and lawmakers have taken the power away from those that can hand down the discipline and the corrective measures. And the kids know this.”
