Steve Compton is going from the Regina Food Bank to the YMCA.
On Wednesday, it was announced Compton, who has been with the food bank since 1995 and their CEO since 2012, will be the new CEO of the YMCA effective June 21.

For Compton, he’s excited to get started in his new position.
“(YMCA is) an organization in the city that has a long-standing history of service to the community, and the members, and helping and impacting in positive ways,” Compton says. “When the opportunity came forward, it was a great decision to move forward serve the community in a new and different way, and get to know the team and the members there. I’m very excited about the possibilities.”
“You meet so many people in the community that share the belief that no one should go hungry, the volunteers, the staff,” Compton says. “The ability to make change in the community through serving in that role has been very rewarding, and I want to thank the Regina Food Bank for everything.”
