Debate in the Saskatchewan legislature centred on school disrepair and funding for education Thursday.
NDP leader Ryan Meili raised the issue of Argyle School in Regina, saying parents are worried about the structure of the building.
Meili says parents have been waiting for a decade for a new school.
Education minister Gordon Wyant says the province has made a record investment in school capital funding last year.
He says safety is one of the most important issues and all schools are kept to a safety standard.
He pointed out there were six new schools opened in Regina last year.
He adds the province provided for 30 million dollars in extra funding for education this year.
