The Saskatchewan Teachers Federation says it wants to help develop a new vision for education in the province.
The Federation plans to take the lead in a wide-ranging and comprehensive consultation process.
President Patrick Maze says the plan is to speak with all stakeholders.
“We’re just looking at getting some public consultation into what Saskatchewan people want for education,” he said. “Publically funded public education should be responsible to the public and we think it’s important all stakeholders have a say.”
Maze says they need to find new ways to deliver the best possible education to an increasing number of students with fewer dollars as the province is committed to balancing its budget.
