The NDP is calling on the SaskParty government to set up a provincial sexual assault strategy.
Opposition critic Nicole Sarauer says Saskatchewan has the second highest per capita rate of reported sexual violence in Canada.
She says there must be more support for victims.
Justice minister Don Morgan says the issue of sexual violence is taken seriously and a report will be coming down in the next few days.
He says the province has recently passed legislation to allow victims of violence to break residential leases, there’s unpaid leaves, and free legal advice.
