The last couple of years I’ve grabbed my flowers at a temporary greenhouse set up at the corner of 5th and Lewvan. Gary, the owner, is a Canadian fellow who sets up his greenhouses in Regina and Saskatoon. The reason the greenhouses are temporary is because Gary spends the off-season living in Thailand with his wife and son, both of whom are out here in Regina to lend a hand, although his 5 year old spends most of his time playing hide and seek and running around.
Seeing as this is the third year we’ve had our flowerbed up and running, I was a little more prepared on what I was looking for, although I really don’t know what plants I’m buying. I strictly go on colour alone. I told Gary I wanted colourful plants that love a lot of sunshine and he sent me in the right direction. By the time I left I had purple, yellow, pink, red, and any other bright-coloured plant I could fit into the tray.
Max wasn’t much help when it came to planting. He just sat on the other side of the yard patiently watching and wondering what in the world I was doing. Thanks for the help buddy!
Time to rack up that water bill!
