The opposition is raising more criticism about the 1.2 billion dollar Regina bypass project.
NDP critic Buckley Belanger says the foreign consortium building the project improperly disposed of old asphalt by burying it near the bypass roundabout.
Highways minister David Marit says regulations were changed two years ago for asphalt disposal and the company is digging up the old asphalt and recycling it.
He says the bypass builders have until this November to clean up the burial site.
Marit says the focus of the bypass project is on safety, with 11 overpasses, 33 bridges and 40 kilometers of highway for commuting around Regina.
