A couple of weeks ago I was able to cross raking leaves off my list of things to get done around the yard this spring. In fairness, I didn’t even have that one on the list, my wife did. A couple of days ago planting flowers was also crossed off the list. Next job up…mowing the lawn.
Even though we haven’t had much rain over the last couple of weeks, it still looked like we had a jungle growing in the front of our house. Seeing as I don’t own a machete, I figured yesterday was the day to pull out the lawnmower and finally get that job crossed off the list as well.
For some strange reason our dog gets so excited when I pull the lawnmower out from the shed, which is odd, considering he can’t be far enough away from it when it’s actually running. I’ve got to get that dog to a shrink!
After I pulled the mower onto the lawn I gave the primer a couple of pumps and pulled the cord. The engine started up, first pull! You’d never know that thing was sitting in the shed for the last 7 months or so by the way it fired right up. What a pleasant surprise.
Leaves raked? Check. Flowers planted? Check. Lawn mowed? Check.
There are still lots of things to do around the yard, but as of yesterday, that list shrunk by one!
