Crops are emerging in the southwest part of Saskatchewan near Swift Current.
The crop extension specialist in Swift Current, Shannon Chant, says farmers are making good seeding progress in her district and estimates about half is done.
“Definitely still going, there was a couple days we had some moisture last week that shut things down for a day or so, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing,” Chant said.
“Progressing along in a few places I’ve heard of some peas that are up and some cereals as well, so definitely things are moving along,” she added.
Chant expects seeding will wrap up in the Swift Current area in the next week or so.
