A former Junior Hockey player is making his way to Humboldt to show his support for those who lost loved ones in the horrific crash that took place in early April.
Rance Cardinal started his walk from Sioux Lookout, Ontario on April 11th, and made a stop in Regina Thursday afternoon.
Cardinal says the attention this walk has gathered is something that he takes in stride.
“Pretty much taking it day by day, especially being around cameras and that, I just want to take it like as if you’re doing a hockey interview, so everything on this walk I’m just tying it into hockey pretty much.”
Cardinal explains why he’s doing his walk.
“I’m not doing this walk to raise money, I’m doing this to show my support and give my strength to the Humboldt Broncos and the people of Humboldt and everybody that’s been effected.”
Cardinal says he still has about a week left in his walk, as he aims to be in Humboldt by May 27th. He later added his first stop will be the Elgar Petersen Arena, where the Broncos played their home games.
