Johnny Manziel’s football career is continuing north of the 49th parallel.
The former Heisman Trophy winner and Cleveland Browns quarterback announced on Twitter he would be joining the Hamilton Tiger Cats for the 2018 CFL Season.
Made the decision today to sign my contract with the CFL and further my football career after a long break. Very grateful for everyone that’s been supporting me along the way. I believe this is the best opportunity for me moving forward and I’m eager for what the future holds.

Manziel had been long rumoured to be headed to Steeltown after he announced he was committed to making a return to professional football following his release from the Browns in 2016.
He’s expected to sign a two year contract with the club and will be competing with Jeremiah Masoli, Vernon Adams Jr., Bryant Moniz and Dane Evans for the starting job in Hamilton.
The Tiger Cats season kicks off June 16th when they visit Calgary for a date with the Stampeders.
