Severe thunderstorm watches are out for a good portion of Saskatchewan as the temperature will climb to near or over 30 degrees in many parts of the province on Saturday.
Environment Canada says a cold front from Alberta will pass through southern Saskatchewan this afternoon. This passage of cold front will trigger some thunderstorm activity with some of them possibly being severe in nature.
The cold front will pass through the Battlefords and Kindersley region first. The risk of severe thunderstorms will be limited to early afternoon for these regions.
The cold front and risk of severe thunderstorms will continue eastward this evening. This severe thunderstorm watch may be extended eastward later in the day.
