An open house will be held in Sedley Wednesday night to discuss a proposed four billion dollar potash mine about 30 kilometers southeast of Regina.
CanPacific Potash says the 3 million ton mine would be in the RM’s of Francis and Lajord but so far it is only in the discussion phase with no time frame for construction.
A councillor in the RM of Lajord, Todd Lewis, says the project would benefit the local area.
The proposed potash mine would employ 300 people and create 15 hundred construction jobs.
Another open house to discuss the project will be in Vibank Thursday evening.
