A 27 year old man is facing a number of charges after an alleged kidnapping in Saskatoon on Tuesday.
RCMP say they received a report of someone saying they saw a woman screaming for someone to call police while in the back of a vehicle around 9:20 AM.
About the same time, city police received a call from the woman saying she feared for the safety of herself and her child.
Using a description of the vehicle and its whereabouts, several cruisers and Corman Park police started a search which ended about 30 minutes later with the suspect being located and a “high-risk arrest” being performed.
The man, who isn’t being named to protect the identity of the woman and child, faces charges of kidnapping, forcible confinement, uttering threats and possession of a controlled substance.
The accused made a court appearance in Saskatoon Wednesday morning
