Severe thunderstorm warnings are now in effect for the areas in and surrounding Regina, Fort Qu’Appelle and Moose Jaw.
Severe thunderstorm watches are in effect for much of central and southern Saskatchewan.
Some watches were downgraded from earlier Wednesday afternoon.
The watches were activated on Wednesday morning, with the warnings activated in the afternoon.
John-Paul Cragg with Environment Canada says with these severe thunderstorms, we can also see a lot of rain.
“With these thunderstorms, precipitation can be very localized. So, it’s possible that there could be a lot of rain, with these thunderstorms. It’s really dependent on where they form exactly.”
Cragg says there might be a rainfall watch or even warning coming down later today depending on how the storms are formed.
