The Saskatchewan All-Terrain Vehicle Association is signifying ATV Safety week starting today.
The Association’s message for the week is to ride safe and smart
General Manager John Meed said if you’re seriously considering purchasing an ATV, do look out for some notable safety features.
“We recommend an ATV that has a remote kills switch. If the child starts to get away from the parent or is not acting properly, they can kill the engine.”
Meed also noted it’s important people always be sure to wear the necessary protective equipment.
“Saskatchewan law requires ATV users to have a helmet and googles or eye protection,” he said. “We also recommend a long sleeve shirt, long pants, good boots and gloves, especially if you’re on a quad.”
