Last night something happened that rarely ever happens to me. I was awoken by a loud crash of thunder. After I got my bearings straight I checked the clock. It was 11:49. My first thought was “Great, I can still get a few more hours of sleep.” So I laid there for a few more minutes and before I knew it my alarm clock was going off at 2:20. Usually, if I wake up in the night, I have a hard time getting back to sleep, but not last night.
I can sleep through just about anything. Many times my wife will ask me if I heard some kind of sound that she heard overnight, but I usually have no idea what she’s talking about. “How could you not have heard that?” Hey, when I sleep, I’m down for the count.
A few years ago a drunk driver plowed into both of our vehicles right in front of the house. If my neighbour hadn’t of rung our doorbell at 1 o’clock to let us know what happened, I would have been totally oblivious to the fact until I went out to go to work a couple of hours later!
In fairness, it happened in the fall, so our bedroom window was closed. I like to think I would have heard all of the commotion if the window had of been open.
Sleep tight, don’t let the bedbugs bite.
Hell, I could have a group of bedbugs playing in a mariachi band right next to me ear and I wouldn’t notice them!
