Perry Bellegarde is looking for re-election as National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations.

Bellegarde was first elected to the post in 2014.
Prior to that he served as Chief of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations and was Saskatchewan Regional Chief for the Assembly of First Nations.
He is from the Little Black Bear First Nation northeast of Regina.
