Sometimes police need a little luck when it comes to solving a crime. Lumsden RCMP had that happen this weekend.
Two men are facing charges after the school in the town, just northwest of Regina, was broken into.
RCMP say they were called to the school around 1:30 AM Saturday morning after a security alarm went off.
Upon arrival, they found a man known to police who denied involvement. He was released pending further investigation and examination of the scene.
A few hours later, an officer was inside the school doing a walk-through when he saw the man who had been detained earlier crawling down from the roof.
He was taken into custody and admitted to the break-in saying he was on the roof to recover his cellphone which he had dropped.
The second man was taken into custody shortly after.
Both men, whose names aren’t being released, are facing charges of break-and-enter and theft.
A small number of tools and power tools that were taken were recovered and returned.
