I logged into my phone and handed it to him so he could have a look and check things out. He went straight to “connections” and proceeded to type in the station password…with his thumb! I was watching him and wondering how in the world someone could type so fast with their thumb and hang on to the phone at the same time. My wife is the same way.
That is a talent that, thus far, eludes me. I am very methodical when it comes to texting. If I’m doing anything with the keyboard on my cell phone, it’s actually quite the arduous affair for me. I scan the letters very slowly and use my index finger, and I still make a million mistakes that I have to go back and correct.
Maybe my thumb’s too short to use for something like that. When I’m texting or emailing on my phone, it’s all I can do just to hang on to the darn thing. You’d think a guy would get better at it with time, but I’ve had my phone for over a year now and my texting skills are just as slow and laborious as they were the first time I tried.
Oh well, I can’t ever see myself competing in a world texting championship, so it really doesn’t matter whether it takes me five seconds or five minutes to write a text.
I used to think I had perfectly normal thumbs until I’d seen some of the high-speed texters out there!
