Another addition to Grasslands is complete.
‘The Landing’ is a new 20,000 square foot plaza which allows people to gather with several restaurants and shopping centres near by.
Ward two Councillor Bob Hawkins said Grasslands and Harbour Landing is a very beneficial area for the City of Regina.
“It brings tremendous retail outlets, really a landmark in the city, another thing is it brings new residents to Regina,” Hawkins said. “The immigrant population has grown tremendously, they’ve found a real home here, and they add to the vigor and the dynamic nature of our city.”
MLA Muhammad Fiaz said there is a wide selection of places for people to shop and eat in Grasslands.
“Everything is available, I like that this is my area, and I see that this is a very popular area in young families and all-ages families.”
Construction is continuing in the Grasslands area, with a number of businesses yet to be announced opening shortly.
Chairman, President and CEO of Harvard Developments Paul Hill said there is many reasons for people to come to the Grasslands and Harbour Landing area.
“The other thing is look at the draw; the Wal-Mart, the Lowes, I’m looking at DSW over here, there’s a lot of reasons to come here,” Hill said. “(There’s) great restaurants, there’s people who live here, you see right here beside us.”
Development in the Grasslands and Harbour Landing area began back in 2010.
