A few days ago I blogged about the gunk that is falling from our trees in the front yard on to all of the vehicles in the neighbourhood. Well, it’s still coming down, although it has seemed to trail off a bit. Now there’s a different culprit dirtying up the vehicles. It’s still coming from above, but not from the trees. Now it’s the birds.
I don’t know what the birds are feasting on, but whatever it is, it’s giving them lots of ammunition, so to speak.
Usually, when a bird hits the bull’s-eye on my vehicle, it ends up being just a little white spot that is quite easy to wash off. Lately, when this stuff hits, it splatters all over the place. If it hits the side of my vehicle, I’ve suddenly got a foot long racing stripe going down one side. And it’s never just one hit. It’s like the birds are conspiring to target my vehicle. Some days it looks as though I’m driving a zebra to work.
A few weeks ago my wife and I were sitting on the deck when suddenly, splat, a bird did it’s business right on her shoulder. I got a bit of a chuckle out of that! Better her than my vehicle, right?
C’mon birds, pick on somebody else for a change.
At this rate I’ll be broke by the end of summer trying to keep my vehicle clean.
