Rider fans are hoping quarterback Zach Collaros can throw for a lot of yards and a lot of touchdowns this season and so is inner city youth in Regina.
The Riders announced Friday just hours before their season opener against Toronto that Collaros is teaming with the Mosaic Company and the mâmawêyatitân centre this season.
Collaros is personally committing to donating one dollar for every passing yard and $100 for every touchdown he throws this season to the mâmawêyatitân centre with the Mosaic company matching the donation.
Mosaic spokesperson Sarah Fedorchuk says Collaros had reached out shortly after becoming a Rider about how he could the city’s most vulnerable kids and that Mosaic is proud to partner up with him on this initiative.
Sandra Bellegarde with the mâmawêyatitân centre says they are thrilled to have this program in place which will foster positive relationships, mentorship and active lifestyles for North Central children and youth.
