If you’ve been thinking about donating to the Souls Harbour “Stock up for Summer Food Drive” but haven’t got around to it yet, you better make time.
Tuesday and Wednesday is your last chance to help them reach their goal of collecting 5,000 lbs of food, to help feed the on average 200 people per day during the spring and summer months.
Marketing Manager Deana Struble said donation locations are open all across the queen city.
“You can donate at any of the Sherwood Co-op locations, there’s Quance Street, south Albert, and Rochdale also, ” she said. “You can also bring a donation right into our soup kitchen, which is at 1836 Halifax Street,” Struble added.
Struble said while they’re pleased with the amount already collected, they are still in need of pasta, pasta sauce, rices and canned beans and lentils.
Around 4600 lbs of food has already been gathered since the donation drive started on June 1st.
