After hinting at it on his social media accounts, it looks as if Premier Scott Moe and the province are ready to release a proposal to make the equalization payment plan in Canada more equal across the board.
The current program, which expires early next year gives money to provinces in need, provinces that are considered “have-not”.
Saskatchewan has used Quebec as an example before, and Moe did it again this week, saying despite Saskatchewan seeing a downturn recently, we have still received zero dollars in equalization pay, while Quebec has gotten close to 100-billion over the last 11 years.
Many in SK believe Equalization is unfair. In 11 yrs, $190B+ paid out to other provs. SK received $0.
Some say SK rec'd much Equalization over history of program. Actually, that’s not true.

Moe will be making an announcement Wednesday morning from Saskatoon.
More to come.
