A farm couple from Norquay in the northeast is this year’s winner in the Outstanding Young Farmer competition in Saskatchewan.
Jordan and Jennifer Lindgren were selected at the Canada Farm Progress Show.
Jordan Lindgren says the 11,500 acre farm is heavily involved with research into crop genetics, equipment and farm chemicals.
“We also do stringent testing on different products, things of that nature to see what’s going to work on our farm,” he said. “We do all kinds of trials, whether it’s application trials, seed-grade trials, fungicide trials, just to try and really find out what’s going to work on our farm.”
The Lindgren’s host a field of dreams tour on their farm each year, an opportunity to share trial results from previous years and showcase current trials on new genetics and farming methods. It’s also a food farm, to teach school kids about food production.
