Ever play name that tune for prizes! No pressure, right? How about when you think you’re right so you keep up that thread of conversation!
Last night I was at the Jon Ryan Foundation – Wednesday Night Live Comedy Show at Casino Regina. I was very lucky in spinning a wheel of fortune, I received a trip to the Max TV Trivia station. I listened to theme music and had to tell them what show it was from. I was positive it was Hill Street Blues! WHAT THE HECK!? Hill Street Blues. I said it again. The girl hosting this little game was amused – sort of! Now on my end of things it is easy to guess someone’s age when they haven’t got a clue about a show from the 80’s. You, friend weren’t even born then! So, I went to NEXT CLIP! I was way off on that one. The third one – nope … some Crown series – I don’t know! Oh yeah, it was Game of Thrones – there ya go!
Should they have played sports theme music or Coronation Street, I would have aced it! I guess I don’t support network television enough as I didn’t fare well, I did leave a winner though. (A thousand thank you’s.)
So today, one our other announcers and myself were talking about this AND we listened to Hill Street Blues. Ah – it is NOTHING like the song I was supposed to guess – LAW and ORDER! I got pretty close, suggesting CSI a number of times!
I think the Jump.ca gang took pity on me. Now with my new Bluetooth speaker I can have a rockin’ summer listening to theme music.
To be fair, when I grew up most TV theme music had lyrics!
