It’s been a long time in the making, but finally, the protesters at the Justice For Our Stolen Children Camp met with members of the Saskatchewan government.
The protesters and the ministers met at the Treaty Four Governance Centre in Fort Qu’Appelle.
Five ministers from the government were in attendance: Justice Minister Don Morgan, Minister of Central Services Ken Cheveldayoff, Minister of Social Services Paul Merriman, Minister of Government Relations Warren Kaeding and Deputy Premier Gord Wyant.
One of the people who helped to broker the meeting between the two parties, Edmund Bellegarde, noted the government and protesters would not be commenting on the meeting on Monday.
Spokeswoman for the camp Robyn Pitawanakwat said they will speak to the media about the matter Tuesday morning.
